Watch this clipping of Pride and Prejudice. Explain how you felt watching it in comparison to the movie. How is this clipping different to the novel and is it realistic?

The clipping is not a good representation of Jane Austen's novel. It is also not realistic because the characters used are not the same ones from the original movie. However, their actions and lip movements do not match up with the audio that was placed. Some of the characters are not suitable to represent the characters. Some of them are too old, too young, too short or too ugly to be the persons portrayed in the novel. This takes away from the originality and makes it seem fake. However, the setting and attire was very realistic. The ballroom scene was a very good representation of the real thing. The actors in the clip were from an entirely different movie that was based on an entirely different book. This made it seem like a parody which would serve to ignite halarity upon its viewing audiences. However, one can get the general gist of the plot because the auditory imagery is very accurate. One can hear the emotions of the characters in their voices.
ReplyDeleteagain i agree with Sarah... this was not a good representation of the book because the clippings were not really suited for the audio... it was a lot of jumping from place to place and age to age of the characters and some of the settings made no sense to the words .. also it was a just a tralier (not the correct one at that) so then a correct representation could not b expected. moreover the feeling i got from the clip was hilarity because the clip was a parody of the pride and prejudice trailer using harry potter clippings so it was interesting and funny to see some one spend time and pull that off...
ReplyDeletethe clothing was very correct in some scenes such as the ballroom scene but other than that it was very mixed up .... but again as Sarah said the plot of the story was portrayed in the audio and one can expect good from the story based on that.
Firstly, whosoever had the time and energy to create this clip was really (for lack of a better word) idle!!
ReplyDeleteCha!
Anyway, now to deal with the question:
I must admit that the clip was remotely comical. However, the truth is that it provided quite an inaccurate representation of the 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie. The clip was not even from the actual movie, but rather from another movie which really had no relevance to Pride and Prejudice. To acquiesce with Ariel and Sarah, the audio and the characters' mouth movements were not synchronized and the representation of the characters was misleading and ambiguous in that some characters were too old, some too young etc. More specifically, in the case of Mr. Darcy, he is portrayed by two actors in the clip, which makes it very confusing. (First as Viktor Krum and then as Ron Weasley)And although at some points the attire and the situations matched those expressed in the audio, the overall clip, in terms of the visual aspect, did not really portray the movie.
Thank God for the Audio!! lol
i agree with everyone and i think that it was a bit confusing also certain parts in this clip was not very realistic and only the part of the ball to me was like what the movie was like.
ReplyDeleteThough it is as both ariel and sarah says, I thought it was very interesting and entertaining but I do not think the plot lost it's sense.
ReplyDeleteTee hee..I absolutely loved it!!
ReplyDeleteThough I was kind of upset that Harry had to be Mr.Collins. Mr.Collins is dumb - Harry is not!
so some of the chracters didn't really match, except for Ron and Hermoine who played Mr.Darcy and Elizabeth - they couldn't really tolerate each other at first but after a while they grew on each other and ended up getting married [ for the harry potter lovers out there who haven't read the last book.. -wooops, sorry ]
Annyywaay..
It really was a bad representation of the book, everything was just way too confusing, some of the characters were playing to roles and sarah has a really valid point, Harry Potter has NOTHING to do with Pride and Prejudice. I also agree with everyone who said that the mouth movements and the audio weren't really matching each other, it's kind of distracting.
Though, it's a great way to get people who haven't seen Pride and Prejudice to get to watch it, since they're making a comparison between it and Harry Potter.
I liked it!! I thought it was quite hilarious!!! Yes at times, it was confusing. I think it was confusing to me because I did not know all the characters in Harry Potter. But artistically it was good. The audio definitely did not match, but I felt the true purpose of the clip was to be comical. Yes Daniel, thank god for the audio.
ReplyDeletelol i liked it and i agree with courtney's comment-i didn't like the fact that Harry had to play Mr. Collins. That i just didn't like!!! But even though it was funny. In my opinion I would have to agree with dandyball it was not properly synchronized. I'm not a big fan of Harry Potter so it was difficult for me to tell who was who. And as mrs. Buffonge and Daniel said if it wasn't for the audio it wouldn't have made a lick of sense!
ReplyDeleteFirstly this is Brooke and i concur with Sarah and Ariel for the most part. This clip was a god- awful representation of the book though I must admit that it was rather creative and funny, a definite parody to the book. The character's lip movements did not match what the characters were saying but i honestly dont believe they should since it was an entirely different movie which was taken and editted to fit the specific scenario of pride and prejudice. however i totally agree with Sarah's too old too ugly comment. (I mean come on, that chick in the huge glasses. TOO FREAKY)
ReplyDeleteAnother thing, did anyone realize that Mr. Darcy's character also played Charlotte in the voice over (it's true, if you dont believe me check the clip again and pay close attentioin).

I think the scenery was great though. It was definitely appropriate. So... Englishy. lol.
though the creator of the clip was a definite creative genius i honestly do not believe that the clip was realistic but mad props to whomever it was. Very Entertaining.
The clip was ok, but as Sarah said it was not a good representation of Jane Austen's novel. It is not realistic because the characters' mouth did not move to the words being said and after a point in time it became confusing and i lost knowledge of who was who.
ReplyDeletesarah and dandy ball i like it its cool ....its creative to see somebosy can make a link between harry potter and pride and prejudice (yes the person has time must me a white boy with no friends) n e ways sarah ur comment was harsh ...this wasnt done to educate ppl it was for a youtube joke spoof paroady so yeah ......it wasnt prefect yeah ....but it was cool and fun to watch ...i would tell anyone to watch it to study the movie but for a laugh i would
ReplyDeletecompared to the movie lack of a better word ..this clip was crap ....it had no subtance ....settin was wrong ...it was a bit confusin at times but the whole idea was funnny LOL
i personally think you guys are judging it too hard the person wasn't actually trying the interpret the book the where just having fun and playing around yes the book was not adequately interpreted and the characters and era where off but it was funny to watch and i liked it. i would not waste my time to make something like that but to whoever did it was a good try keeping in mind that they would never find scenes where the lip match but perfectly or close to the fact that they found scenes where good enough
